UiB is a member of the European university alliance CHARM‑EU. The alliance is one of 65 European university alliances, a flagship initiative in the European strategy for higher education.
In addition to UiB, eight universities are partners in the alliance: University of Barcelona, Trinity College Dublin, Utrecht University, Eötvös Loránd University, University of Montpellier, Åbo Akademi University, Julius‑Maximilians‑Universität of Würzburg and Hochschule Ruhr West.
The following calls are available to staff and students at UiB in spring 2026; these include calls from CHARM partner universities, where CHARM partners are given priority.
Deadline 27 February: Call for proposals for joint educational acitivites (CHARM-ED)
Description: The CHARM‑ED Call offers funding to support the development, enhancement, or redesign of higher education and lifelong learning across the CHARM‑EU alliance. We invite proposals from interdisciplinary and inter‑institutional teams that wish to innovate together, co‑create content, integrate CHARM‑EU’s pedagogical approach into educational experiences, and promote the skills Europe needs to tackle complex local and global challenges.

UiB invites up to three PhD candidates to participate in the CHARM-EU Summer School 2026.
Are you ready to expand your research horizons in a stimulating international environment? Do you want to experience teamwork in a transdisciplinary setting?
Åbo Akademi University is hosting an interdisciplinary Summer School dedicated to doctoral researchers from all fields. You will develop transdisciplinary skills working on real-life challenges together with other doctoral researchers and stakeholders to address complex topics of our time.
Online preparatory sessions of 2 hours each (three slots, dates TBD)
June 8-12, 2026: Intensive on-site program in Åbo/Turku Finland

Target group: PhD candidates from any discipline enrolled at UiB
