Professor Rita Ginja's work spans across social policy, education, health, and labor markets. Her research uses large-scale datasets and econometric techniques to evaluate the effectiveness of policies, programs, and interventions aimed at improving social outcomes and to identify key relationships in health, education, and labor economics. Through her studies, she provides valuable insights into the effectiveness of social policies and programs and identifies ways to reduce inequalities in health and education.

She has published in high-ranked journals such as The Economic Journal, American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, Journal of Human Resources and American Economic Journal: Economic Policy among others.

For the Department of Economics this is really a big event, says head of department Tommy Staahl Gabrielsen.  For the first time in the history of the department we have more than one female professor. We are both proud and happy for Rita’s well-deserved promotion today.
