Our multidisciplinary HIPS research group in Norway aims to contribute to a better understanding of the complex mechanisms involved. We are excited to share our latest findings from the large, longitudinal population-based hip cohort, newly published in Pediatrics.

Associations between the newborn hip acetabular shape as seen on ultrasound and the adult acetabular shape as seen on x-rays are incompletely understood. We revealed significant associations in females, which might indicate different mechanisms affecting the course of DDH for females and males. Our findings also revealed an association between adult joint hypermobility and DDH, warranting further investigation.
