Recruitment

Recruitment to the Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design

KMD wishes to prioritize recruitment to our study programmes. This page is developed to inform our students and staff about the continuous recruitment work done at our Faculty.

Main content

Many initiatives to enhance recruitment are in progress, amongst others a working group for recruitment has been set up. The main purpose is to reach potential candidates with relevant information about our studies. The working group consists of artistic and administrative staff, who will consult with the three different departments, staff and student groups.

Our aim is to coordinate the work needed to produce and deliver information to prospective students, supply brochures, give information on the web, communicate through social media and school visits

Annual plan

In progress

Web

We have two different webpages: www.uib.no og www.kmd.uib.no.
We have different aims and strategies for these channels to ensure that we provide our students with relevant information while also recruiting new students.

Social Media

KMD use both Facebook and Instagram to reach potential candidates.

We also have different campaigns relatede to the social and student-oriented services and activities that our Faculty or the University is responsible for, like student reception, application dealines and recruitment measures.

School visits

Our Faculty welcomes visiting schools, but we also arrange visits to different and relevant institutions in the nordic countries. The effort to provide information to potential students of KMD starts already with visits to lower and upper secondary schools.

This is an opportunity for us to promote our study programmes and inform about our Faculty and our three different departments and staff. Each year we train student ambassadors for this assignment.

"Faglig- pedagogisk dag" will be arranged 2. februar 2018.

This is a day for teachers and advisors from Bergen and the surrounding areas. KMDs arrangement will be held at the University Aula and the program for the day includes lectures, seminars and Workshops, all primarily directed at teachers and advisors working at lower and upper secondary schools.

"Faglig - pedagogisk dag" is a good occacion for KMD to inform about our three departments, our study programmes and staff.

The Portfolio Day

KMDs Portfolio day will be held 15. februar 2018.

On this day KMD invites potential applicants to come and get feedback on their portfolios or their repertoire, and to get a closer look at the Faculty. The visitors can meet students and staff, and will recieve information on what it takes to become a student at the Faculty.

This is the day when our Faculty opens up for all our potenial applicants and give them a real look behind the scenes: The workshops, project rooms, show rooms, workplaces and labs will be open as far as possible. Students and technicians will be active working on different projects in the various workshops,  and our potensial applicants may visit the students' workplaces and rehearsel rooms and feel the beat at KMD, in both Møllendal and Lars Hillesgate. Potential students can bring along their work, completed or in process, and will get feedback on their portfolio or their mock audition.

Open Day

7 mars 2018 the Universty of Bergen opens the doors for those interested in getting an education at the university. The prospective students can meet professionals, see the campus and get a sense of how it is to be UiB student.

KMD wants prospective students to be informed about our studies, and feel prepared for student life. We want to provide a taste of university life with topics such as career, exchanges and student life.
