Short abstract: Neurodegenerative dementias are a heterogeneous group of diseases with significant overlap. Improved diagnosis is pivotal in order to better understand and treat dementia. Enhancement of NAD+ levels, e.g., through nicotinamide riboside (NR) replacement, is a promising novel treatment in neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer´s disease, and a new trial investigating NR is now starting.
