90 students, from six Universities in Norway and nine abroad, from 62 different study programmes, and with 12 different nationalities, sailed across the Pacific Ocean with Statsraad Lehmkuhl in the summer of 2022, while participating in the UiB course Sea-Climate-Society – sustainability summer course.

On Tuesday 18 April, three of these students, Ronja who studies aquaculture, Simon who studies psychology, Anna Lisa who studies law, and psychology professor Jarle Eid will share with you:

  • What was it like to study (and teach), be a voyage crew member, and live on board Statsraad Lehmkuhl for 4 months?
  • During the voyage, what did we all learn about:
    - Sustainability
    - The ocean
    - Impact of climate change on the Pacific Islands
    - Humans, including ourselves?

The discussion will be led by professor Katja Enberg, the course leader who participated in the entire voyage from Chile to Palau.

In addition to the discussion, you can look forward to lots of video and photo material from our voyage across the Pacific!
