29.10
, at 17:30-19:00 (GTM+2) Online event - Halloween special live stream.

In this thematic online edition of the UM/AHKR Arkeologisk Forskningseminar, we want to celebrate that we are back to the stage with a special Halloween edition with an archaeological twist. The first weeks of November is for many cultures a date where death and afterlife are celebrated in a special way. From the Archaeological research seminar, we want to engage in these special dates by bringing to you four specialists that have researched topics of afterlife and death in different archaeological settings.

- Pål Steiner (University of Bergen, Norway). How to nourish a dehydrating corpse: cannibal consumption in Egyptian purification rites.
- Simon Malmberg (University of Bergen, Norway). Partying with the Dead: a Roman Halloween.
- Carlotta Zeppilli (Sapienza University of Rome, Italy). Stabbed to death during the barbaric invasions: the case of multiple perimortem traumas from an Italian Longobard cemetery.
- Jhonny Therus (Kalmar County Museum - Linnaeus University, Sweden). Sitting on mounds and talking to the dead. A look at the material traces of supernatural communication on burial grounds.
