Main content

Once again, the Plastics Network and the Sustainability Pilots at the University of Bergen (UiB) invite students and staff to a major cleanup event on Thursday, September 25.

The event is organized in collaboration with the Bergen og omland friluftsråd (BOF) and Naturvernforbundet Hordaland.

In addition to making an important contribution to nature and wildlife, UiB’s plastic cleanup events are a great way to connect with fellow students, staff, and organizations that care about the environment and climate.

Note: Spaces are limited and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. So it’s a good idea to sign up early!

The event is supported by UiB’s Climate Fund.

What’s happening?

The trip starts with a bus ride from Bergen Bus Station to Hellesøy, where boats will be ready to take participants to an island just a few minutes away. This is where the actual plastic cleanup will take place.

As part of the event, there will also be a social gathering with academic content at the multi-purpose venue Hengjo on Hellesøy.

A free lunch will be served during the day.

All registered participants will be contacted with more detailed information ahead of the event.
