The Landscape, Archaeology, and Cultural History of ANCIENT TEGEA. Field Projects and Recent Research. Seminar at the University Museum of Bergen.

The seminar is a presentation of fieldwork and recent research at the site of the Ancient city of Tegea in the Peloponnesian Peninsula in Greece. Norwegian scholars and students have been working at Tegea since 1990, and the seminar will present some of the results of this work in the context of recent research. The four major Norwegian researchers, three from the University of Bergen and one from the University of Oslo will present their research at the seminar together with their international partners. Researchers from the Greek Archaeological Service will also discuss their work on Tegea. The recently re-opened Tegea archaeological museum where some of the finds from the Norwegian investigations in the area are now on display in the new exhibition will also be presented.
