Prognosis of congenital dysplasia of the hips

Children examined with ultrasound in the newborn period for diagnosis of congenital dysplasia of the hips are followed in young adulthood to examine the natural development the hip joint. This follow-up study is conducted in cooperation with the Department of Surgical Sciences with professors Karen Rosendahl (radiology) and Lars B Engesæter (orthopedics) as principal investigators.

Children with mild dysplasia of the hips have been randomised to receive early abduction treatment or watchful waiting. This cohort is followed.
