Open lectures at Bergen Summer Research School
This year’s list of plenary sessions is packed with exciting titles and original researchers.
Main content
The plenary presentations provide meeting points between the various PhD courses and offer unique insight into the various themes. These events are central to Bergen Summer Research School and are organised as events open to the public.
This year’s keynote speaker is Olivier De Shutter, the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to food. He picks up the thread from the theme of last year’s Summer School in his lecture on global challenges related to food. Another highlight is Rafto Prize laureate Nnimmo Bassey, the profiled climate activist, poet and architect from Nigeria. He will give a plenary lecture on climate change and climate justice.
There will also be presentations and laws and policies regulating abortion around the world; the relationship between science and governance; how to plan for global challenges; the governance of small-scale fisheries; violence against women in India; as well as culture and rights in the global North and the South.
In addition, there will also be panel debates with experts on sustainable natural research governance and poverty.
Check out the plenary presentations below.
We look forward to seeing you there!
