Goals and objectives

Main content

The goal of the graduate program is the training of competent researchers and the preparation for careers in various professional environments, including academic departments, research institutions, and health care settings.

We endeavor to advance research on mechanisms and factors that protect as well as endanger mental health emphasizing theoretical development, empirical validation, methodological rigor, and the establishment of links between normal and abnormal processes. This requires students to become acquainted with a broad range of relevant research designs and methodologies.

The overriding objective of the graduate school is to offer our PhD candidates a solid framework for research as well as a dynamic network, thus preparing them for professional work and further research assignments.
