is Associate Professor at the Department of Comparative Politics at the University of Bergen, Norway. She has published extensively on questions related to women’s representation, political decentralization, and multiculturalism in Africa. She has thorough knowledge from conducting field studies and qualitative interviewing. Her work has amongst other appeared in Representation; Government and Opposition; Democratization; Women’s Studies International Forum; and The Journal of Modern African Studies. Muriaas is Editor of Norsk Statsvitenskapelig Tidsskrift (the Norwegian Journal of Political Science). She is the Co-editor of Gendered Citizenship: The Politics of Representation, forthcoming (2015) on Palgrave Macmillan and has contributed a chapter on “Subnational Elections in Conceptualizing Change in Comparative Politics” (forthcoming, Routledge 2015).
