In September, the government, represented by Minister of Research Tora Aasland, promised an annual allocation of NOK 20 million to continue the work on climate research at the University of Bergen, which the minister praised for its climate research.

’This is very important in relation to maintaining the research expertise the Bjerknes Centre has developed. The centre is one of the world’s foremost research environments for climate issues, one of the biggest challenges the world is currently facing. So this money is not just important to the Bjerknes Centre and UiB, it is important to the whole world,’ says Rector Sigmund Grønmo.
