More students at UiB

In 2009, the University of Bergen saw a 13 per cent increase in the number of applicants. This is above the national average, which was an increase of eight per cent.

Almost all the faculties experienced an increase in the number of applicants.

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences saw a 22 per cent increase in the number of applicants in 2009 compared with the previous year, while the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry had the biggest increase, with 24 per cent.

The Faculty of Humanities experienced a 12.5 per cent increase, or 189 more applicants than in 2008. This illustrates that UiB is one of Norway’s most attractive educational institutions.
