Hovedinnhold

The Department of Comparative Politics, with partners in Mexico, is co-organizing an international symposium in Tijuana, Mexico, dedicated to examining emerging challenges to migration and refugee regimes in a rapidly evolving global order. Titled “The Shifting Global Order and the Transformation of Refugee and Migration Regimes,” the symposium brings together a distinguished group of experts in international migration. Its aim is to explore how broader geopolitical, economic, and normative transformations are reshaping the governance of migration and refugee protection, and to assess the implications of these shifts for both policy and theory in the field.

Hakan Sicakkan is the partner for the project from the Department of Comparative Politics, and the conference counts on broad participation from the University of Bergen and NORCE. From Bergen Ann Cathrin Corrales-Øverlid (UiB), Pierre Van Wolleghem (NORCE), Kari Hagatun (UiB) and Simone Grassini (UiB) in addition to Hakan Sicakkan will present. The conference is supported by many academic and international institutions (see full list on the right) and the Bergen participation is supported by the University of Bergen by a funding call on Global Challenges.
