International semester in Norway
This information page is for incoming students from Nepal, Vietnam and Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences. Center for Crisis Psychology offers an international semester from august 2020 where students in clinical psychology at UiB take an optional course in Crisis Psychology and go abroad for a Global Mental Health Practicum. As we are part of two different NORPART projects, supportet by www.diku.no, incoming students from Nepal and Vietnam will join the Norwegian students in the course "Crisis Psychology and Disaster Response" in Bergen.
Main content
From Nepal
The international semester starts at University of Bergen with the course PSYK380 "Introduction to Global Mental Health" ,10 ECTS. You take the course with Norwegian students traveling on our international semester and with visiting clinical psychology students from Nepal, Vietnam and Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences.
From Vietnam
The semester in Vietnam is part of the project "Early childhood development and family well-being" with Inland Norway, University of Applied Sciences, University of Bergen and Vietnam National University/University of Education. The project is funded by Diku.
The international semester starts in August at University of Bergen with the course PSYK380 "Introduction to Global Mental Health" of 10 credits (about 6 weeks). You take the course in Bergen with other Norwegian students traveling on our international semester and with incoming psychology students from Nepal, Vietnam and Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences.
In early October, you travel to Lillehammer and take the course "ACD, Health and Sustainable Development" for 10 credits.

How to apply
The students from Tribuvan University in Kathmandu/Nepal and Vietnam National University in Hanoi/Vietnam must apply to their home university. Students from UiB apply within February 1, 2024.

Visa
You need a visa to be granted a stay in Noway. Please contact your local embassy for further information. (See list below)
When entering Norway, your passport must be valid for more than six months beyond the time of departure.
Accommodation will be organized by University of Bergen. More information will follow.
Please note that the cost level is significantly higher in Norway than in Nepal, Vietnam, South-Africa and Thailand.
