Please join us in reading selected texts by 2024 Holberg Prize winner Achille Mbembe followed by a reading group discussion on his approach to technology. Co-arranged by the Holberg Prize.

Guest Patrick Jagoda will give a 5 minute intro about necropolitics and death in video games, and Jill Walker Rettberg will give a 5 minute intro about Mbembe’s view of technology in The Earthly Community and Brutalism. The rest of the hour will be devoted to open discussion, and we hope everyone will contribute.
If others would like to give short prepared intros to specific issues please let Jill know.

We expect participants to have at least read the Necropolitics essay and some of either The Earthly Community or Brutalism.
