The 20th edition of the International Symposium on Pollutant Responses in Marine Organisms (PRIMO 20) was organized in Charleston, SC, USA on May 19-22 (https://sites.google.com/icloud.com/primo20/home). An engaging and entertaining keynote talk by Queen Quet of the Gullah/Geechee Nation on ocean sustainability and the importance of a healthy ocean to sustain the livelihoods of coastal communities opened the meeting with more than 200 participants. Members of the dCod 1.0 project presented 11 platform presentations and four poster presentations during the conference. As a bonus, dCod 1.0 PhD student Siri Øfsthus Goksøyr was awarded one of the Founder’s Awards for best student presentations during the conference, for her talk “Assessment of endocrine disrupting effects of bisphenols in Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua) using luciferase reporter assays and precision-cut liver slices”.

The next conference, PRIMO 21 in May 2021, will be hosted by dCod 2.0 partner Malin Celander in Gothenburg, Sweden.
