Migrants as Part of the Health Workforce

NFMH members and other collaborators are invited to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations. We especially welcome contributions related to representativeness of migrants in healthcare and research.

How do migrants contribute as part of the health workforce in Norway and internationally? Can the system be more inclusive without loosing quality?

Can research help us to find better solutions for migrans, health care and society?
 
We are pleased to invite you to a seminar in Bergen, organized by the National Research Network for Migrant and Health, on the theme: Migrants as part of the health workforce

The seminar provides a platform for exchange and collaboration among researchers, health professionals, and policymakers to share experiences and discuss strategies that can strengthen both the health services and the inclusion of migrants in the labour market.

  • “An international view: Experiences from an Albanian nurse working in Italy” by Aurora Kokici, writer of Profession: Humanity: A Practical Guide and Political Reflection on a More Inclusive Nursing System
  • A long way ahead for migrants with health-related education: Experiences from Int4Health and the Career center at Haukeland  (Karrieresenteret)
  • Panel discussion with policymakers and health care providers on how we can improve health care and integration in Norway
  • Workshop “Opening the Doors: Increasing Migrant Representation in Health and Research”

You are invited to submit an abstract to present your work during the seminar, either as an oral or poster presentation, during the seminar. Please submit your abstract by 1 March 2026 using the following link.
