CASE is a university consortium where NTNU, UiB, UiO, UiT and UNIS are partners, and industry sponsors are participants.
The overall aim of CASE is to establish and operationalize a national consortium within applied geophysics with focus on education, research and innovation.

CASE activities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinating and improving collaboration between Norwegian universities within education and research in geosciences
- Developing e-learning modules used by universities and the industry for educational purposes. This is done via the e-learning system GeoCLASS delivered by UniGEO.
- Developing CASEs and courses to be used for learning at the universities and in member companies
- Establishing research projects on effectiveness and success rate for selected geophysical methods, tools and work flows
- Knowledge sharing and networking events between academia and industry
