Main content

The starting point for this project is the need to gather the extensive and scattered resources that deal with Edvard Grieg and present these on an online platform. Grieg Research Guide provides easy access to the continuously updated Grieg bibliography, expanded with references from indexed international databases, hitherto unpublished library collections, and digitized primary sources.

The bibliography is related to a scientifically edited, complete Grieg work catalogue, for the first time made available in an online version in English language. Thus, related searches can be made in both music manuscripts and other primary sources as well as secondary literature.

In addition, an assessment and comment function will be developed, which will open for a discussion of relevant topics based on researchers' academic assessments and comments from the public.

The project is a cross-institutional collaboration between the University Library in Bergen, Bergen Public Library and the Center for Grieg Research.

The project received a development grant from the National Library of Norway in 2016.

Grieg Research Guide will be launched during autumn 2017.
