The IMEX project has investigated how people in local communities imagined and experienced the refugee crisis and receiving an asylum center in their local community, and what it was like for the refugees who came during the crisis. The research also included using the Norwegian Citizen Panel to investigate peoples attitudes before and after both the establishment and closing of asylum centres, and how these attitudes changed.

Professor and principal investigator Susanne Bygnes, PhD-candidate Amany Selim, professor Elisabeth Ivarsflaten and associate professor Hege Høivik Bye are coming to the public library in Bergen to talk about IMEX, about what happened to the refugees who came to Norway and eventually established themselves in the norwegian community and what we can learn from the refugee crisis in 2015.
