Four new years for UiB-Rector Dag Rune Olsen

Dag Rune Olsen and Margareth Hagen are elected as Rector and Pro-Rector for the period 2017 - 2021.

- It is very nice to have renewed trust in a job I have much appreciated for four years. UiB is an amazing institution that I am looking forward to be leading the next four years, says Dag Rune Olsen.

He is currently the Rector at UiB, and was previously Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Bergen.

Olsen will 1. August 2017 begin his second period, together with new Pro-Rector Margareth Hagen, and The Vice-Rector's Oddrun Samdal and Robert Bjerknes. The new Rectorate was elected with no opposing candidates.

The election turnout was 17,5 percent, and 75 percent of the votes went to Dag Rune Olsen and his election manifesto.

- This is a good mandate to continue the work based on our election manifesto, says Olsen.

The new Rectorate are elected for the period 1. August 2017 - 31. July 2021.
