Addition for breeding costs

Main content

Breeding animals will have an additional housing fee (price is 2 x regular housing).

Breeding requires more care and follow-up than other housing. This includes more journaling, more frequent inspections due to high animal density, greater demands for environmental enrichment, and the fodder is more expensive. Moreover, the breeding activity vary widely and it may be necessary to bring in additional staffing in periods. In addition the fee should cover separation and gender sorting.
Research groups who have their own technicians employed for this work, can in agreement pay a reduced fee.
