Lisa has been investigating how variability in spring weather at the continental scale influences the phenology of insectivorous terrestrial birds, using the blue tit and the great tit as model species and within the SPI-birds collaborative network. Her main supervisor is Adele Mennerat.

Studies of Populations of Individuals Birds Network (SPI-Birds) is a world-wide network of researchers who collect data on breeding, individually marked birds. The network is coordinated by the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NIOO-KNAW). The network has several Norwegian members, including Adele Mennerat from BIO.
