Throughout its departments and research groups, the Humanities Faculty of the University of Bergen hosts leading researchers in manuscript studies and sustains pervasive student interest in the area. To bring together this expertise, Semester’s Work in Manuscript Studies (SWiMS) proposes an informal meeting place for researchers from various disciplines to share challenges, experiences, and expertise that have arisen during their work. By highlighting common endeavours across disciplines, the occasion aims to develop conviviality and foster further co-operation among participants.

Researchers working on manuscripts of any period, place and language are invited to draft challenges and queries for an open conversation among like-minded peers. We foresee short presentations of 10-15 minutes for discussion thereafter.
