Success of the Porous Media Short Course Series

After 6 courses given by in total 8 lecturers, the porous media short course series finds its end. With topics including:

• coupled free flow/porous media flow (Rainer Helmig),
• homogenization (Sorin Pop),
• flow in fractured porous media (Inga Berre/Jan M. Nordbotten),
• brain modeling (Marie Rognes),
• multigrid methods for heterogeneous problems (Xiaozhe Hu),
• hybrid analysis modeling and reduced order modeling (Adil Rasheed/Trond Kvamsdal),
• variational inequalities, mixed-dimensional systems, and non-local operators (Barbara Wohlmuth).

The series was acclaimed as success with in total 250 participants signing up and on average 30-40 present participants per lecture.
