Early Stage Researcher Seminar - Josef Novák

Interleukin 1 alpha – an extracellular signalling agent in the nucleus

Main content

Josef Novák is Ph.D.-candidate at Charles University in Prague and is on a research stay abroad visiting Anni Vedeler’s lab, funded by the Erasmus+ programme.

He studies the cytokine interleukin-1 alpha, a well-known extracellular pro-inflammatory signalling agent. IL-1 alpha was also found to have an active role inside the cell, especially the nucleus. Here in Bergen, he is investigating the connection between IL-1 alpha and Annexin A2.
