Launch: Series on SDG14 – Life below water

United Nations Academic Impact launch a special series on SDG14 showing examples from the University of Bergen on science and education for a sustainable ocean.

The series runs throughout June 2020 and will feature five articles from the University of Bergen, chosen by United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) in October 2018 to be the Hub institution on SDG14, Life below water. The articles are to be published every Monday, starting 8 June 2020 – World Oceans Day.

The series will include contributions on topics such as:

  • Science diplomacy / science advice towards the 2030 Agenda
  • The Laws of the Ocean, with a special focus on bringing science to the Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ) negotiations
  • UiB’s unique SDG14 course for master’s students
  • A special feature on target SDG14.3 on ocean acidification
  • Covid-19 and the Ocean
