Hvorfor gir søvn og stabile døgnrytmer god helse? Hvordan kan forstyrrelser i disse endre vår fysiologi og atferd? Dette er mitt forskningsfokus. Jeg studerer forholdet mellom stress (over et livsløp), søvnforstyrrelser, døgnrytmer (som det å jobbe netter eller endringer av timer med dagslys) og helse, mentalt og fysisk
Jeg har også et forskningsfokus på konsekvensene av eksponering for - eller blokkering av - blått lys. Blått lys påvirker aktiveringsnivået vårt. Noen pasienter med psykiatriske lidelser kan være sårbare for et slik energirikt lys.
Ved hjelp av dyremodeller og kliniske forsøk jobber jeg for å få en bedre forståelse av vår biologiske psykologi og helsekonsekvensene av vår moderne livsstil.
