PhD projects:

"Psychometric properties and predictive value of the new Norwegian personality hardiness measure"

Recent years have seen a growing interest in resilience resources that may help protect individuals from the detrimental effects of stress. One such resilience resource that has been proven useful is the personality disposition known as hardiness. The overall aim of the PhD-project is to evaluate the validity of a new Norwegian hardiness scale and assess the relationship between personality hardiness, stress and health.

"Leader development, resilience and attachment"

New military challenges require flexible and adaptive officers with the ability to operate in unfamiliar contexts. The objectives of the current research project are (1) in a cross-sectional study, to investigate attachment style and resilience as predictors of successful leadership, (2) to investigate development of successful leadership in two longitudinal studies, i.e., during senior staff college, and in a waiting list-controlled study, to further investigate whether successful leadership can be promoted by a group-based intervention.
