The Department of Comparative Politics offers bachelor degree and master degree in comparative politics, and a bachelor's degree in Europe studies. In addition we have many courses open for exchange students and other students, some are in english. You can read more about our courses under "Education".
Chinese Politics in a Globalized World
Our new, collaborative semester course in Shanghai (Fudan University) is up and running! Every spring semester, we offer this unique opportunity to study Chinese politics and developments in a global perspective. The course is a close collaboration between Nordic and Chinese universities, with close integration between Nordic and Chinese students and scholars! For more info, see our pages.
What is comparative politics?
Comparative politics is the systematic study of political institutions, organisations, processes and behaviour at the local, national and international level. Comparisons across political systems and over time are central to the subject. The main focus of the research is democracy and democratisation in a wide sense, thematically and geographically.

Gloppen in APSA's Task Force
The American Political Science Association's (APSA) "Task Force on Democracy, Economic Security, and Social Justice in a Volatile World" published it's final report this spring. Siri Gloppen, from the Department of Comparative Politics, has been a member of the task force.
