Very briefly put, the above article aims to: "elucidate the significance of disidentification and imagination for democratic progress and change. ...This is particularly relevant at a political moment when the lack of alternatives to what are perceived as necessary economic and other constraints in a globalized world limits people’s imagination. ... [and] necessitates a philosophical framework that demonstrates how the poetic and imaginative capacities of democratic citizens can serve as central elements within transformative movements. The purpose of this paper is to lay out the key components of such a framework."
