DIGITALEUROPE is part of the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027, so it complements other EU funding initiatives such as Horizon Europe. The programme envisions a greener, more digitally advanced Europe, reinforcing resilience and digital sovereignty. DIGITALEUROPE comprises five pillars aligned with the key capacity areas:
- High-Performance Computing: Delivering world-class supercomputers and data processing capabilities for scientific research, industry, and public administration.
- Artificial Intelligence: Supporting the development and implementation of trustworthy AI solutions that uphold EU values and fundamental rights.
- Cybersecurity: Strengthening the protection of critical infrastructure, networks, and data while fostering cybersecurity skills and competencies.
- Advanced Digital Skills: Addressing digital expertise shortages and providing training opportunities for professionals across various sectors.
- Deployment, Best Use of Digital Capacities, and Interoperability: Ensuring the effective adoption and utilization of digital technologies by businesses (particularly SMEs), public administrations, and citizens through Digital Innovation Hubs and other initiatives.
