CCBIO Junior Scientist Symposium August 31st
PhD students, postdocs, medical research students, and other researchers and staff are all invited to the next CCBIO Junior Scientist Symposium to take part in an exciting scientific program. There is no fee, and lunch is included. In the key lecture, Researcher Erlend Hodneland from Christian Michelsen Research AS will discuss how computerized algorithms and deep learning can contribute to improved quality of biomedical research.

PhD candidate Tina Fonnes will present her work describing a new biomarker in endometrial cancer. Martha Rolland Jacobsen, dental and Medical Research student, will share with us her work on the use of molecular tools for improved diagnosis of oral squamous cell carcinoma. PhD candidate Stein-Erik Gullaksen implements mass cytometry to identify new biomarkers in chronic myeloid leukemia treated with tyrosine kinase inhibitors. Two lectures will relate to breast cancer research; Sura Aziz, who recently achieved her PhD, will give us an update on predictive molecular biomarkers future challenges, while Hildegunn Aase, MD and now PhD candidate will share her exciting project on the digital breast tomosynthesis imaging tool, and its potential as screening biomarker.
