A lot is happening next week in Bergen, with among other the One Ocean week and the Ocean outlook events. Several members of the Centre for Deep Sea Research are involved in various events.

Here is the list of events where members of the Center for Deep Sea Research participate:

NorEMSO: Advancing Marine Observations in the Nordic Seas

When: Tuesday 16th of April, 08:30 to 11:00.
Where: UiB Læringsarena-Nordre Allmeningen 3, Nygårdsgaten 5
What: Outreach event highlighting the advancements in Norwegian marine  
observational capabilities led by NorEMSO. NorEMSO's network in the Nordic Seas boasts three key components: moored observatories, underwater gliders, and an integrated seafloor and water column observatory. Beatrice Tomasi is coorganising and will speak about the observatory deployed at Fåvne vent field. As well, Thibaut Barreyre's short movie "Immersive" will be presented.

Ocean Outlook: the North Atlantic Ocean climate, deep sea and environment

When: Thursday and Friday 18th and 19th of April, 09:00 to 16:00.
Where: Storsalen,  Nygårdsgaten 5, Bergen
What: Ocean Outlook is a scientific conference about climate, oceanography, and life across the Atlantic Ocean. Doors are open to the public, so take the opportunity to hear what marine researchers are working on and discussing at the moment. Mari Eilertsen, Ida Steen and Pedro Ribeiro will present their research on Friday 19th. As well, Morgane Le Saout and Mauro Passarella will present a poster about their SEAS postdoc on Thursday and Friday.

Havbunnsmineraler - Kunnskapsbehov

When: Wednesday 17th of April, 08:30 to 13:00.
Where: VilVite Auditoriet, 2 etg., Thormøhlensgate 51
What: The Norwegian Parliament has opened up for mineral activities on the Norwegian continental shelf. What knowledge do we lack and how do we acquire it?
