Main content

In this webinar, Ignacio Herrera Anchustegui will speak about the basic rules governing the granting of public support (state aid) to renewable energy projects. State aid sets barriers but also opens possibilities for states in the EEA to finance energy projects. These can promote technological solutions and/or promote the production of renewable energy. Not all funding is allowed as this would distort competition, send wrong market signals and maybe be a less optimal use of taxpayers’ money. As part of this talk, Ignacio will shortly present the new EU/EEA Guidelines in force from 2022 onwards and discuss possible repercussions of the rules for Norwegian renewable energy projects in the future.
