The ETØK annual seminar provided a welcome opportunity for a small gathering of researchers to discuss some of the new challenges that are surfacing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The seminar programme included opportunities for ETØK members and guests to discuss individual standpoints as well as present projects and work in progress.

One of the highlights of the event was being able to welcome Paul Farmer* (Partners In Health and Harvard Medical School) as a guest speaker via Zoom.

The BCEPS (Bergen Centre for Ethics and Priority Setting) research group facilitated an engaging conversation with Dr. Farmer about how the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted inequalities in health and wealth around the world. The conversation was moderated by BCEPS Director Ole Frithjof Norheim.

*Paul Farmer (MD, PhD) is Kolokotrones University Professor and Chair of the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He is co-founder and chief strategist of Partners In Health.
