Open access to scientific publications and research data and good data management practice has come into focus during the last years. This is reflected by requirements from funding bodies, policy makers, and institutions. At UiB, a policy for open science has been adopted in 2020.

The research support services at the university library include information and guidance on open access to publications and research data and good data management practice, as well as respective infrastructure. We would like to present these services and take the opportunity to have a dialogue about your needs.

Our support services include:

  • Open access to scientific publications (open access publication fund, open access publishing deals, funder requirements (Plan S), guidelines at UiB)
  • FAIR research data management and open access to research data (funder requirements, data management plans, data documentation and metadata, archiving and reuse of FAIR research data, citable code)
  • Publishing strategy (open access publishing status, visibility of own research and research evaluation based on open science)
