UiB is launching Tredjepartsportalen (apps.uib.no)
In January 2021 UiB launches Tredjepartsportalen, a solution where students get access to relevant software to enhance learning where they are, when they need it – simply administered by the teachers themselves.

Main content
Tredjepartsportalen provides students with on-demand access to software for use in teaching and assessment, access is provided quickly, self-serviced and integrated in Mitt UiB. Tredjepartsportalen is developed by UiB in collaboration with external technology partners and has been tested on a variation of courses at UiB in 2020. Tredjepartsportalen is launched to all students at UiB in January 2021.
Software mapping fall 2020
A mapping of desired software for teaching and assessment will be conducted in the fall 2020, in collaboration with all UiB’s Faculties. A request will be sent to you and our academic community in October.
The goal of the mapping is to generate an overview of the current needs, as well as those aligned with the ongoing development and re-design of study programs and courses.
Tredjepartsportalen’s service will be developed iteratively, and all recorded needs will not be made available at launch in the spring of 2021. In the first iteration, the following will be prioritized:
- Existing/established software
- Software relevant for all/large groups of students
- Software which is part of learning outcomes on course/program level
- Windows based software
At the end of the spring semester in 2021 the offered software will be evaluated based on actual use and revised. It will be possible to submit new needs as part of this process. Presently, costs related to new software and needs must be covered by the academic communities.

Tredjepartsportalen makes it easy for you as a teacher to show what software the students can expect to use in your course. This is a quick and easy process through MittUiB that will be available after launch in 2021. Details regarding the procedure will be made available.
Software in exams
During 2021 we will test and software in digital exams. More information will be available during spring 2021.
Submit needs for software
Desired software will be mapped at all Faculties during the fall 2020 (see above). A revision of the offered software will be conducted in May/June 2021, where additional needs can be submitted.
