Conference on Competition and Public Procurement Law Issues in the Health Care Sector

Main content

On 20-21 September 2012, the Research Group on Competition and Market Law at the University of Bergen's Faculty of Law arranged an international conference on Competition and Public Procurement law issues in the health care sector

The conference was part of an ongoing research project on "Competition and market related challenges raised by the modernization of the public sector", financed jointly by the Faculty of Law and the Research Council of Norway.

The aim of the conference was to bring together Competition and Public Procurement law experts to have them discuss selected topics concerning the health care sector in the context of their respective fields of expertise. The selected topics were addressed from both EU/EEA and Norwegian perspectives.

The conference turned out to be a very successful event, with over 50 participants, from academia (the Universities of Tilburg, Oxford, Cambridge, Copenhagen, Umeå, Bergen and Örebro, the Copenhagen Business School and the Norwegian School of Economics), the Ministry of Government Administration, Reform and Church Affairs, the Ministry of Health and Care Services, the EFTA Surveillance Authority, the Norwegian Directorate of Health, the Norwegian Competition Authority, the Norwegian Procurement Complaints Board,  the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise, the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities and numerous law firms.
