"Body for adults" is a series that gives easily understandable answers concerning body and health, and how eating and drinking affects our body and the environment. The series is a collaboration between Litteraturhuset in Bergen and UiB. Medical doctor and TV-host Trond-Viggo Torgersen talks to colleagues within research and health services. Tuesday November 13th professor in clinical nutrition Jutta Dierkes was invited to a conversation about dietary supplements, vitamins and other components from food.

The audience heard about what dietary supplements are recommended for the general population and for subgroups such as pregnant women and old people. Other topis in the discussion were food additives claimed with E-numbers, and their function in the food we eat. Finally, other issues were addressed such as Western countries consuming too much meat and the possible health effects of microplastics in food.

The talk will be broadcasted on Norwegian radio next year, and also as a podcast.
