The Pandemic Center invites you to its seventh Pandemic Breakfast of the fall semester. This time, you can join both in-person and online.

This time, we are pleased to welcome Erik Hjerde and Silje Aambø Langvatn.

They will each present the following topics:

"National Pathogen PortalErik Hjerde will present ELIXIR Norway that is a national node of ELIXIR, the pan-European infrastructure for biological information, supporting life science research and its translation to medicine, environment, the bioindustries and society.

Erik Hjerde is a node leader at ELIXIR@UIT, with a background in biology and a Ph.D. in genomics. Throughout his career, he has primarily worked with prokaryotes, focusing on genomics, transcriptomics, and metagenomic analysis of communities from both human hosts and various ecological habitats.

"Why is it important that health workers make proportionality assessments?

Silje Aambø Langvatn is an associate professor of political philosophy at the Centre for the Study of the Sciences and Humanities (SVT). She has previously held positions as a postdoctoral fellow at SVT and PluriCourts at the University of Oslo, a researcher at Yale Law School (2016), and a Fulbright Visiting Fellow at Harvard Government Department (2009).

As usual, there will be a light breakfast and coffee/tea for those attending in person.
