The Bergen Research Group in Geriatric Medicine is currently headed by associate professor Susanne Hernes.

We collaborate with the Kavli Foundation for Geriatric Research, and have a large national and international scientific network. The research activity is interdisciplinary and diverse, spanning from frailty and sarcopenia in ageing unto cardiac diseases, cognition and acute primary health care. The research group is located at Haraldsplass Deaconess Hospital.

We take pride in our innovative student education and short transition time from research to clinical practice.
