Bachelor and Master Ceremonies at the Faculty of Social Sciences are held on Friday, 5 June 2026 at The University Aulaen in Bergen.
This ceremony is for students completing their degree in autumn 2025 or spring 2026. To ensure as many candidates as possible can attend, each graduate may bring one guest only. If there is additional capacity after the registration deadline, remaining places will be made available at the end of May. Registered participants will be kept informed about any extra availability.
Registration
You register via the link associated with your study programme. The registration link will be ready by the end of March 2026 and published on uib.no and mittuib.no. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and will close automatically when the Aula reaches capacity, or by the end of May 2026 at the latest.
About the Ceremonies
Bachelor programmes are divided into two separate ceremonies. Final information about which programme belongs to which ceremony will be published in March 2026 on uib.no and mittuib.no.
The master’s ceremony will take place immediately after the bachelor ceremonies.

Bachelor Ceremony 1: 09:00–10:30 (Registration at 08:30)
Bachelor Ceremony 2: 12:00–13:30 (Registration at 11:30)
Master Ceremony: 15:00–16:30 (Registration at 14:30)

About the Diploma
The bachelor’s and master’s ceremonies celebrate all those who have recently completed, or are about to complete, their degree in autumn 2025 or spring 2026.
You will not receive your diploma during the ceremony. This is because grading for courses taken in the spring semester will not yet be finalised. Read more about the diploma.
Diplomas and transcripts from UiB are produced digitally. This means you will find your results and completed degree in the Diploma Portal. Through the portal, you can share your results (grades) and degrees (diplomas) with others when needed.

Facts about the Ceremonies
The Faculty honours students who have completed their degree during the past academic year and congratulates them on reaching an important milestone.
Ceremonies are held every June. Students who graduated in the autumn semester or are about to finish in the spring semester are welcome to join the celebration.
To attend the bachelor ceremony, you must have completed a degree (180 credits and submitted your bachelor thesis or equivalent).
To attend the master ceremony, you must have completed and submitted your master thesis.
Students are responsible for registering for the correct ceremony. Each graduate may bring one guest only.
The University Aulaen
The University Aula is located at Nygårdshøyden, in the south wing of the Natural History Museum, University Museum of Bergen.
