Zuzana Murdoch er professor i offentlig administrasjon og medlem av forskningsgruppen "Politisk organisering og flernivåstyring" ved Universitetet i Bergen. Zuzana forsker blant annet på legitimiteten til internasjonale styringsstrukturer, sosialisering av (inter)nasjonale byråkrater og lobbyvirksomhet i internasjonale organisasjoner. I senere tid har hun også forsket på offentlig styring gjennom kollaborative styringsnettverk, samt spørsmål knyttet til organisatorisk stigma.

Professor Murdoch har utgitt i en rekke tidsskrifter, blant annet Organization Studies, Public Administration Review, Public Administration, Governance, Journal of European Public Policy, European Union Politics, European Journal of Political Research, og European Journal of International Relations. Kursutvikling og undervisning

Zuzana Murdoch underviser emner på både bachelor – og masternivå i organisasjonsteori (AORG210), kvantitative og kvalitative metoder (AORG 321 A & B og AORG323 A). I tillegg er Zuzana emneansvarlig for et masternivå ‘state-of-the-art’ emne i politisk organisasjon og flernivåstyring (AORG326). Tidligere har hun undervist emner om EUs utenrikspolitikk, EUs institusjoner og politikk, samt transnasjonal governance.

Phd - Veiledning

Professor Murdoch er for tiden biveileder for en doktorand, Nanna Lauritz Schönhage som arbeider ved Department of Applied Economics of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgia). Lauritz Schönhages prosjekt undersøker hvordan politikernes medlemskap i, og tilknytning til, politiske partier påvirker de grunnleggende prinsipal-agent forhold som ligger til grunn for politisk ansvarlighet i representative demokratier.

Zuzana Murdoch leder prosjektet: "Longitudinal perspectives on local, central and supranational public bureaucracies" (ADM-IN-TIME), finansert av Norsk Forskningsråd (1,070 mill. NOK; 2021-2023).

Hun også forsker i følgende pågående forskningsprosjekter:

  • Et prosjekt omhandler måling av, samt mekanismer bak, sosialiseringsprosesser i (inter) nasjonale byråkrater. Dette prosjektet er i samarbeid med Hussein Kassim (University of East Anglia), Sara Connolly (Norwich Business School) og Benny Geys (BI Norwegian Business School).
  • Et annet prosjekt – i samarbeid med Magali Gravier (Copenhagen Business School) and Stefan Gänzle (Universitet of Agder) – undersøker rekruttering, ansettelse og HR management i regionale organisasjoner i det globale sør. Prosjektet fokuserer for tiden på det økonomiske fellesskapet av Vestafrikanske Stater (ECOWAS).

  • Et tredje prosjekt – sammen med Gro Kvåle (Universitetet of Agder) – undersøker sosiale forhandlingsprosessene som ligger bak stigma og stigmatisering av marginaliserte organisasjoner.
