Welcome to the Faculty of Psychology
At the Faculty of Psychology you will meet a highly qualified, engaged and ambitious staff that focuses strongly on quality in research as well as teaching. International collaboration is a cornerstone in all our doings, which is reflected in our research and in the number of programmes and courses offered in English. We want to attract engaged students, and offer them close collaboration with our research groups, as well as opportunities to progress to a PhD in all study areas.

A multidisciplinary faculty
The Faculty of Psychology is a multidisciplinary faculty that currently teaches 1600 students and offers a substantive number of studies leading to a wide range of academic and professional qualifications. These cover a variety of disciplines, ranging from professional studies in psychology and teacher training, to bachelor and masters degrees in child welfare, gender and development, pedagogy, health promotion, psychology, work and organisational psychology and speech and language therapy. The faculty has three graduate schools, as well as several research groups.

Bergen fMRI-group in PNAS
What started as a spin-off study by researchers in the Bergen fMRI-group, has now been published in the highly recognized scientific journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (PNAS). The study demonstrates the effect of glutamate on cognitive control mechanisms.
