Main content

Bergen Anthropology Day is an annual event for social anthropologists in Bergen, organized by the Department of Social Anthropology at the University of Bergen and Christian Michelsen Institute.

The aim of the event is to gather students, academics and researchers working at Bergen's many research institutions. The program will give insights to the different anthropological networks, international cooperations, as well as ongoing and new research projects.

This year's programme will provide insight into two  international research projects, Mare Nullius and Urban Enclaving Futures, that take us to the Pacific Islands and the urban Africa. Participants in the panel on "Anthropology and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)" will discuss how the SDGs can inform teaching and future research ideas. Also, they will touch upon anthropology's role in the debate of SDGs.

Link to the full programme is available at the bottom of the page.

A light lunch will be served to all guests before we move on to an afternoon filled with interesting presentations, discussions and a musical performance by previous MA students. Presentations will be in English, and the event is open to all interested. We hope to see you there!
