How can we build better cities for the future? Who and what decides how we imagine, develop and live in cities? And how does a social anthropologist explore these issues?

PhD-candidate Oda Eiken Maraire has developed a blog where all interested can follow her journey throughout her fieldwork in Johannesburg, South Africa. The blog is targeting high school students in particular. Access the blog here.

The blog gives insight into qualitative anthropological methods, and how one goes about when doing fieldwork. Oda is particularly interested in exploring how people use the city and how the city affects people. Her study will focus on a "middle-class" neighbourhood in Johannesburg to emark on such questions.

She will post once a month. All posts are written in Norwegian.
